“I walked into the garden to draw sage leaves but it was the bolted cilantro that caught my eye. I watched it for a week as it went from flowering to forming tiny seed pods. I found it incredibly beautiful, the crispy bases of the cilantro sprigs I cut earlier in the season, the tender leaves beginning to brown, and the firework bursts of flowers turning into tiny seeds.”
